Covid surge: SAI centre closed

Ludhiana, January 11

Training centres of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) across the country have been shut down due to rise in Covid cases.

In a circular issued by Shiv Sharma, executive director (operations), SAI, yesterday, it has been advised to close the centres with immediate effect till further orders. Hence, the local SAI centre has also been closed.

It read that in-charges of the centres have to ensure that players reach their homes safely. However, if any athlete has to be retained at the centre due to any valid reason, they should be allowed to stay back, following all Covid protocols. — OC
