Ganesh, student of School of Physical Education and Humanities, CT University, has bagged first position in taekwondo at the Indo-Nepal International League 2019 in the category of U-54 kg. Ganesh dusted eight fights and bagged gold for the country.
He said: “Taekwondo increases strength and stamina and also improves confidence and self-esteem. I am a huge fan of this game which turned into my passion. I dedicate this win to my parents and my coach Raj Kumar sir.”
Sharing his experience, he said the last round of the final match was really tough. Normally three rounds are conducted to decide the winner but I had to go through four rounds. In the last round, a single kick decided the winner. It was his life-changing moment for me.
On his success, Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, CT University, said: “I congratulate Ganesh and his parents for this achievement. At CTU, we make sure that students are built into overall winners. Every sport is as important.”
