Day 2: BCM, Gymkhana Club lads script victories

LUDHIANA: BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, and Gymkhana Club scripted victories in the boys’ U-14 section on the second day of the Ludhiana District Basketball Championship for sub-junior boys and girls and junior boys and girls being held here at the Guru Nanak Stadium on Tuesday.

BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, and Gymkhana Club scripted victories in the boys’ U-14 section on the second day of the Ludhiana District Basketball Championship for sub-junior boys and girls and junior boys and girls being held here at the Guru Nanak Stadium on Tuesday.

In the boys U-14 section, BCM Arya Model School proved too good for Ludhiana Club (I) whom they outperformed 25-12 while Gymkhana Club, Ludhiana, warded off stiff challenge from Doraha Public School, Doraha, before romping home winners 44-40 in which Rohit contributed 18 points for the winning side.

In other matches (boys U-14), PS Khalsa National Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, got the better of Green Land School, New Subhash Nagar branch, 15-12; DCM Presidency School got walkover against Green Land School, Jalandhar bypass branch; DGSG School got walkover against Guru Nanak Public School; DCM Presidency School drubbed KVM, Civil Lines, Ludhiana 18-7.

In the girls’ section (U-14), Khalsa Senior Secondary School outplayed Doraha Public School, Doraha, 18-15, and BIS School, Ludhiana, 16-7.

In the girls (U-17) category, DCM Presidency beat Bhaini Sahib 18-8; Jesus Sacred Heart School got walkover against Green Land School, New Subhash Nagar; BIS School, Ludhiana, defeated Green Land School, Jalandhar bypass, 15-8; Khalsa Girls School outclassed Guru Nanak International Public School 25-10; Guru Nanak Public School outplayed KVM 20-10; BCM Arya Model School, Shastri Nagar, outnumbered Jesus Sacred Heart School 25-6 and Guru Nanak Public School beat BIS School 23-10.

In the boys’ section (U-17), BIS School thrashed Ludhiana Club (II) 34-16; International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, Ludhiana, routed GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass 21-4, Ludhiana Club (I) beat Green Land School, New Subhsh Nagar 27-15; DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road defeated BIS School 20-10; Green Land School, Jalandhar bypass scraped past SAN Jain Public School, Ludhiana 18-17; Ludhiana Basketball Academy routed GGN Public School 44-13 and Ludhiana Basketball Academy overwhelmed BIS Club 35-9.
