DC releases poster of Pro-Run Marathon
Event to be organised before Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Marathon
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Wednesday unveiled the official poster of the First Pro-Run National Marathon, scheduled to be held on February 15 here at the Punjab Agricultural University. The 5-km run will serve as the curtain-raiser to the Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh National Marathon, slated for March 22 in Mahilpur.
The Pro-Run will commence at 6.30 am from the university campus, marking the beginning of a larger movement dedicated to honouring Bhagat Singh and promoting drug-free Punjab.
DC described the marathon initiative as far more than a sporting event. He termed it as a powerful campaign blending patriotism, fitness and social responsibility, aimed at paying tribute to the supreme sacrifice of the iconic freedom fighter while confronting the growing menace of drug abuse in the state.
Jain said the event seeks to mobilise citizens from all walks of life and inspire collective action against drugs. He appealed to students, youth, families, employees and senior citizens to participate enthusiastically in both the Pro-Run at PAU and the main marathon.
