A couple, who came back from West Bengal on May 23, tested positive for Covid-19 today. They belong to VPO Khanpur in Dehlon block.
Meanwhile, two persons, whose samples were taken at a flu corner and their reports came positive, are still untraceable. They have been untraceable since May 18 when their report came positive. The phone numbers given by them turned out to be incorrect and their addresses incomplete.
“We informed the police and asked them to trace these people. No information has been received regarding them yet,” said Dr Rajesh Bagga, Civil Surgeon.
Addresses given by them at the flu corner in Civil Hospital were Prem Vihar and Shibagh.
Commissioner of Police Rakesh Agrawal could not be contacted for comments in this regard.
A total of 6,027 samples have been taken in the district to date, of which reports of 5,845 have been received. The reports of 5,580 samples have come negative while 182 reports are pending. Today, 61 persons were asked to home-quarantine and 123 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing.
ICMR team to start ‘sero’ survey today
A team of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will be starting a “sero” survey in the district on Tuesday. A sero survey involves testing of blood serum of a group of individuals which will be used to monitor trends in prevalence of Covid-19. As many as 100 samples per week and 400 samples per month will be collected from each district to monitor the trend in community transmission, said the Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga.
