District admn uploads list of stores on websites

In view of Covid-19, the district administration claims that door-to-door delivery of essential commodities has started in Ludhiana district. For this purpose, suppliers would strictly have to take necessary permission from the district administration in advance. Suppliers of essential commodities are being given temporary permission, besides helpline numbers 0161-2401347 and 9464696757 have also been issued for the purpose.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said, “To ensure door-to-door delivery of essential commodities in the district, a list of 674 kiryana and medicine stores, LGP distributors and shops supplying green fodder for animals have been uploaded on websites www.ludhiana.nic.in and http://main.mcludhiana.gov.in.”

“The district administration is taking help of best price shops, Swiggy, Zomoto and other online companies. They will also be supplying grocery items door-to-door. But, when they reach any locality, people should not crowd the vendor vehicle and wait for it to come to their home. They should maintain distancing norm of five feet from them,” the DC added.

“All of buyers must wear mask and only one person should come out of the home to purchase from the cart. Try to make payment online as far as possible,” the DC said.

“The work of issuing curfew passes to medicine shopowners has been given to the zonal licensing Authority, whose contact No. is 98720-08040),” the DC added.

“Orders for keeping petrol pumps open in the district have also been issued. Only three persons will work at pump at given time there. The supply of LPG cylinders and vegetables through street vendors is also going on. Milkmen are supplying milk to residents without any problem during morning and evening hours,” the DC said.

“The authorities of Verka milk plant have already been directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of milk,” the DC said. “For taking permission in this regard, suppliers will have to submit their details such as name, firm name, address, email ID, mobile number (having WhatsApp account), proof of reason, timing for which permission is required at the district administration’s email ID“[email protected]” or on WhatsApp No. 93572-00786,” the DC added.

“General public is not allowed to come out of their homes during curfew,” the DC added.
