Ludhiana District Swimming Championship on July 6, 7

The Ludhiana District Swimming Championship for sub-junior, junior boys and girls, men and women categories will be held at the Punjab Agricultural University’s (PAU) swimming pool on July 6 and 7.

Apinder Singh Grewal, president of the Ludhiana District Swimming Association (LDSA), said participants will be vying for top honours in different age groups during the two-day competition.

Those born in 2015 and after are eligible to compete in group IV; those born in year 2013 and 2014 can compete in group III; those born in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are eligible for group II; and those born in 2007, 2008 and 2009 can take part in group I. There is no age bar in the men and women categories.

On the basis of participants’ performance in this championship, the Ludhiana district sub-junior and junior swimming teams will be finalised for the 47th Punjab State Swimming Championship scheduled to be held here at the PAU swimming pool on July 20 and 21, said Balraj Sharma, honorary secretary, LDSA.
