Diwali carnival organised

Ludhiana: Gobindgarh Public School organised Diwali carnival.



Ludhiana: Gobindgarh Public School organised Diwali carnival. The people of the town who visited the event appreciated the sincere efforts of students who had put up stalls highlighting handicrafts and games. Principal Sandeep Kumar Marhatta along with members of the Gobindgarh Educational and Social Welfare Trust were also present on the occasion. 

Students excel in sports 

Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, proved their mettle in the district-level table tennis tournament held at the Guru Nanak Stadium. The Green Knights (U-18 girls’ category) won a bronze medal. The winners, including Muskan, Chavvi, Harsimranjit, Pratiksha and Jaansheen were in a jubilant mood.

Seminar on robotics

A seminar on robotics was organised for Class XI and XII science students at Sacred Heart School, Khanna. Dr Siddharth Saha and Prof Ravneet Kaur were the resource persons from the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib. The objective of the seminar was to increase awareness regarding robotics among students through industrial and mechanical applications in different spheres. Concepts used in robotics were also highlighted regarding basic mechanical, electrical and programming. 

Event on stuttering organised 

A special assembly was held by students of DCM Presidency School to mark World Stuttering Awareness Day. Kids gave a message that mind is a beautiful place where one creates thoughts but sometimes people are not able to put their ideas clearly in words and become depressed. Students said stuttering is not an outcome of low self-esteem or any trauma and it’s just a neurological disorder that can be cured with speech therapies and intrinsic motivation. Kids enacted a play highlighting Albert Einstein and Marilyn Monroe, who used to stammer but finally overcame this difficulty with a positive attitude. School Principal Rajni Kalra appreciated the efforts of students and inspired them to be more caring and patient towards each other.

Cleanliness drive held

Budding Brains International School, Raikot, observed “Swachhta Abhiyan Week”. Various activities were held, including personal hygiene, classrooms and school campus cleaning. In “Best out of waste” children prepared beautiful items out of the waste collected from classes and their homes. Students wrote slogans on cleanliness and made book marks for their teachers. Principal Mandeep Kaur congratulated students.

Event to enhance knowledge  

To enhance the general knowledge of students a “Major events of the month” competition was organised at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass. Students collected news from October 1 to October 20 and held discussions on various topics affecting state and nation. Principal Baldeep Pandher lauded the efforts of the students and said such activities were quite beneficial to boost knowledge of the students. — TNS
