The Department of Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), organised a continued medical education (CME) session on apheresis.
The CME, titled ‘Bridging Specialities: Building a Pathway for Clinical Application of Apheresis’ was inaugurated by Bipin Gupta, secretary, DMCH Managing Society, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
It featured a rich scientific programme, including paper and e-poster presentations, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion among clinicians, residents and students.
Gupta emphasised the importance of such academic initiatives in enhancing patient care. He said apheresis was an evolving field that required integration across multiple specialties, and platforms like this CME helped in creating awareness and building a structured pathway for its effective clinical application.
Dr GS Wander, principal, DMCH, highlighted the need for continuous learning and collaboration in modern medicine. He said bridging specialties was essential to translate advanced technologies like apheresis into routine clinical practice, ultimately benefitting patients through improved treatment outcomes.
