Ludhiana, June 17

Dr Suman Puri, wife of a prominent doctor Sandeep Puri, created a ruckus at Kitchlu Nagar on Monday night after she had arguments with the locality people, who were playing badminton there. Video of the incident had also gone viral today.

Both the parties submitted complaint at the police Division No. 8. The police have yet to register an FIR in the case.

As per the information, a doctor, who was working at the DMC Hospital, had arguments with the area people on Monday night as she was stopping them from playing badminton during the lockdown.

The doctor alleged that despite the lockdown, people used to gather in large numbers to play badminton, which was legally wrong. Besides, the people encroached road, which created hindrance for her when she went out for a walk at night, the doctor added.

Meanwhile, Dr Puri did not respond to the repeated phone calls.

Locality people alleged that the doctor had been creating trouble in the locality from a long time. Earlier, when children used to play in the area park, this doctor used to create trouble there on the pretext that she had to take a walk in the park, they added. Later, when badminton net was shifted outside the park, she again created trouble and stopped them from playing badminton, they said.

Locality people alleged that the doctor had also torn off the badminton net and issued threats to them.

The SHO, Jarnail Singh, said both the parties had submitted complaint and they would be called on Thursday.
