Ludhiana, March 15
All doctors of the Ludhiana Civil Hospital today condemned the firearm injury of an on-duty medical officer at the Amritsar Civil Hospital and went on a two-hour strike.
The strike was held from 10 am to 12 noon on call given by PCMS Association, Punjab.
The doctors have demanded strict action in the incident. The doctors have also put forward the suggestion that proper security arrangements should be made in the emergency department of all government hospitals of the state, with installation of metal detectors at the entrance.
Dr Rohit Rampal, president PCMS Association, Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, and Dr Davinder, secretary of the association, said doctors had been working day in and day out during the pandemic and it was very unfortunate that they were given this kind of treatment. Similar strikes have been called for in all government health institutions in the state. — TNS
