Double delight for Aishveer, Mehar and Naman

LUDHIANA: Aishveer, Mehar and Naman Mehra hogged limelight wrapping up two titles each in the Ludhiana District Table Tennis Tournament which concluded at the Shastri Hall on Sunday.

Aishveer, Mehar and Naman Mehra hogged limelight wrapping up two titles each in the Ludhiana District Table Tennis Tournament which concluded at the Shastri Hall on Sunday.

Aishveer clinched titles in the youth girls and womens’ sections while Mehar annexed the titles in the kids’ and cadet girls’ categories whereas Naman Mehra bagged top honours in the youth boys’ as well as mens’ sections. However, in the junior girls’ group, Aishveer went down fighting against Dhriti in straight sets and settled for the runners-up. — OC

  • Sub-junior boys: Gautam beat Rusharth 11-9, 7-11, 11-8 and 11-9
  • Junior girls: Dhriti beat Aishveer 11-8, 11-7 and 11-9
  • Junior boys: Aryan Vatta beat Tamanpreet 11-8, 9-11, 11-6 and 11-9
  • Youth boys: Naman Mehra beat Tarun Verma 11-7, 11-8, 9-11 and 11-9
  • Youth girls: Aishveer beat Ishreen 11-6, 11-9 and 11-8
  • Women: Aishveer beat Ishreen 11-7, 11-8 and 11-9
  • Men: Naman Mehra beat Tarun Verma 11-9, 11-8, 11-13 and 11-8
  • Veteran men (+ 40 years): Manmeet Singh beat Harjinder Singh 11-8, 11-7 and11-9
  • Veteran men (+ 50 years): Ravinder Verma beat HS Gill
