Police official updates teachers on safety of students at Ahmedgarh



Mand Ahmedgarh/Jagraon, November 27

The administration has launched a coordinated drive to spread awareness about the need of following traffic rules to prevent vehicular accidents involving students and children normally found violating guidelines.

The authorities of various schools and colleges have been advised to sensitise their students and the staff about causes and consequences of reckless and unsafe driving with the help of educators from traffic wings of Ludhiana (Rural) and Malerkotla district police.

The DSP (Special branch), Jagraon, Gurbinder Singh, the DSP, Raikot, Rajwinder Singh Randhawa, and the DSP, Ahmedgarh, Harvinder Singh Cheema, held meetings with heads and representatives of educational institutions to seek cooperation for the movement for safety of students during the ensuing winter season.

“After observing tendency of increase in number of accidents involving students during the winter season we have launched a coordinated movement to sensitise all concerned about preventing violation of traffic rules by teenage students,” said Rajabhat Singh Sandhu, the SSP, Ludhiana (Rural). The authorities of schools were also advised to establish special rooms for displaying traffic signs and rules, besides dedicating specific period on the subject.

The Ahmedgarh traffic in-charge, Kulwant Singh, and the Jagraon traffic in-charge, Rupinder Kaur, said the authorities of various schools were asked to check overriding, driving without valid licence and reckless driving. — OC
