The Elementary Teacher Training staff is conducting a survey to identify out of school children. The survey which started on November 25 will conclude on December 10.

Children between the age group of 6 and 14 years, who had never been to formal school, will be identified and later enrolled into special training centres being run by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. The classes for the same will begin from April 11, 2020.

The survey is being conducted on instructions issued by the Director of Public Instruction (Elementary), Inderjit Singh. “Teams have been going to slums, brick kilns, railway station and bus stands to identify these kids to enrol them in training centres,” said Inderjit Singh.

Schools in which Elementary Teacher Training staff has not deputed, special volunteers will be instructed to carry out the survey, he added.

Teachers will hand over the data to principals of respective schools. After verification by the principal and District Education Officer, the data will be uploaded online by January 3.
