Ludhiana, May 25

In the case of sexual harassment charges levelled against the Block Development and Panchayat Officer by a physically challenged employee of the department, both parties have approached the Police Commissioner.

The woman employee has alleged that she is not being heard by the police while the BDPO says he is being dragged in a fake complaint of sexual harassment.

The woman, in her representation to the CP, says despite her complaint to the PAU police, the SHO is least interested in taking action against the BDPO. She urges the CP to intervene in the matter and issue directions to the PAU SHO to immediately register a case.

The BDPO, in his representation, says: “I am an ex-serviceman, retired from the Indian Air Force. The brothers and relatives of the woman employee attacked me at my office on the PAU complex on May 22. They vandalised my Maruti Ertiga. They also stole my ex-serviceman identity card, military service book, civil identity card, vehicle RC and other important documents. If anything happens to me and my family in future, the kin of the woman will be responsible”.

The BDPO has sent the copies of his representation to the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, the DDPO and the PAU SHO.
