Fatehgarh Sahib MP demands Rs100 crore for development of religious sites



Mandi Ahmedgarh, August 4

Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh Boparai has reiterated his earlier demand to recognise the supreme sacrifice of younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh by developing infrastructure at various historic towns of the parliamentary constituency.

The MP met Union Tourism Minister G Krishana Reddy at his office to reiterate his earlier demand and remind the government’s promise to sanction sufficient funds for raising suitable memorials and develop the constituency as an international pilgrimage centre.

Boparai said he had demanded a grant worth Rs 100 cr for developing infrastructure in Fatehgarh Sahib and connecting all sites related to the Shaheedi of Sahibzadas by rail and air. The MP also briefed Reddy on the history of Fatehgarh Sahib, highlighting the martyrdom of Sahibzadas. — OC
