Continuing with action against the shopkeepers violating the Covid guidelines, three FIRs were registered yesterday.
The Division 6 police registered a case against a chicken shop situated on the Sangeet Cinema road. Its owner has been identified as Mohammad Sardool, a resident of Gurpal Nagar.
The investigating officer, ASI Jasbir Singh, said he, along with a police party, was on routine patrol on the Sangeet Cinema road where they noticed the “Bengali Chicken” shop opened in lockdown. When shop owner was asked to show the permission for opening the shop in the lockdown, he failed. An FIR under Sections 188 and 269 of the IPC and 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act has been registered against the shopkeeper.
A similar case was registered against the owner of a sanitary shop situated in Ghumar Mandi. The investigating officer, ASI Janak Raj, they got an anonymous complaint that a sanitary shop was open in the lockdown. The police raided the shop and registered a case against the owner.
In yet another case of Covid violations, the police booked the owner of Soni General Store situated on the college road. Its owner has been identified as Jatin Soni, a resident of Jassian road, Haibowal.
The police said the shopkeeper was attending to customers during the lockdown. The police arrested him and later released him on bail.
