A fire broke out at Pancham Hospital on Dugri Road this afternoon. The fire reportedly started in the lab due to short-circuit in a UPS kept on the fourth floor of the building.
The fire, which started around 12.30 pm, was controlled by the hospital staff before fire engines could reach there. Since the fire was controlled by the hospital staff within minutes, the patients on the lower floors were not evacuated.
Fire officials said they reached the hospital immediately after receiving the call but the fire was already controlled by the staff.
Sources said three more minor fires were reported in the city.
