Mandi Ahmedgarh: Shreyans Industries Limited of Ahmedgarh on Friday donated a funeral van to facilitate dignified cremation of Covid bodies. Funeral van ‘Baikunth Rath’ will ferry the dead bodies to Old Mandi Crematorium at Ahmedgarh for the last rituals. Deepak Sharma of the Shreyans Industries said the van would be available for ferrying bodies for free and if the kin of the deceased refuse to cremate the dead, volunteers would undertake the rituals in a dignified manner. oc
6K old cylinders seized at dry port
Ludhiana: A team of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on Friday seized nine containers having ‘banned’ products from dry port at Focal Point. The containers carried about 6,000 old cylinders and cut sheets for transformers, and were being transported under the garb of scrap. The officials confiscated the goods and these containers were brought by SRK Manufacturing Company, Khanna. The containers had come from Dubai. TNS
