In all-party meeting held at the Mayor’s camp office on Thursday evening, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and councillors took a decision to give 15 more days to Tata Projects Ltd (TPL) officials to improve the service, otherwise the MC may initiate further action.

Councillors unhappy

The councillors had raised questions over the LED streetlight project and their maintenance during the MC’s House meeting held earlier this month. The councillors had alleged that the project was still incomplete, while maintenance of streetlights was not being done properly by the company.

The meeting, chaired by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, was held to discuss issues related to the LED streetlights projects in the city. The councillors of Congress, Opposition parties, MC officials and private firm officials were present in the meeting.

Earlier, the councillors had raised questions over the LED streetlight project and maintenance of streetlights in Ludhiana during the MC’s House meeting held earlier this month. The councillors had alleged that the project was still incomplete, while maintenance of streetlights was not being done properly by the company.
