Food stall vendor robbed of Rs 3,500 in daylight, 4 booked in Ludhiana

Four motorcycle-borne snatchers looted Rs 3,500 from a food-stall vendor in broad daylight at Giaspura on Saturday. Nago Sahni, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Makkar Colony, Giaspura, reported to the police that four persons, riding two motorcycles and armed with sharp weapons, came to his stall in the afternoon. They beat him up and took out Rs 3,500 cash from his pocket.

According to the police, the snatchers had been identified as Narinder Singh, Jagwinder Singh, both residents of Guru Nanak Nagar, Harjit Singh, a resident of Gobind Nagar in Shimlapuri, and Charanjit Singh, a resident of Azad Nagar. A case has been registered against the snatchers under sections 392 and 34 of the IPC but no arrest has been made so far.

In another incident, the Salem Tabri police have nabbed two snatchers, identified as Lucky Ghora and Kaka, both residents of Shaheed Bhagat Sigh Nagar, from Khandhar Kothi near the Jassian turn while they were waiting for customers to sell stolen mobile phones. The police have recovered five mobile phones of various brands and one sickle from the snatchers. A case under sections 379-B and 34 of the IPC has been registered and further investigation launched.
