The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked affiliated schools to form “integrity clubs” in schools that would hold activities to promote integrity among students and create awareness regarding corruption-free society.

Schools would celebrate Vigilance Awareness Week from October 29 to November 3 .

The Vigilance Awareness Week is organised by the Central Vigilance Commission with an objective of promoting transparency, accountability and integrity in public life.

The board has also asked schools to organise several activities, including displaying of banners, hoardings, sensitising students and staff members on ill effects of corruption.

Schools have been requested to organise lectures, panel discussions, debates, quiz, elocution, essay writing, slogan writing, cartoon making, poster making competitions on moral values, ethics, good governance practices etc.

Amandeep, a parent said, “Home and schools act as learning grounds where children learn values and ethics. It is good that the board has asked schools to observe Vigilance Awareness Week.”

Mehak, a teacher said, “It is the right time to observe Vigilance Awareness Week as final exams are only a few months away.”
