The Northern Railway will take three mega traffic blocks — two on the Ambala-Ludhiana-Ambala section and another on the Amritsar-Ludhiana section — to enhance the safety standards.
As a result of the traffic blocks with durations of 11.20 hours, 9 hours and 11 hours, several trains would remain cancelled, partly cancelled (short-terminated and short-originated), diverted and regulated from June 27 till July 1.
Railway officials said in addition to 12 pair of passenger trains running on these sections, a dozen express and superfast trains would remain cancelled from June 28 to July 2.
Partially cancelled trains
Among the partially cancelled trains are pair of 12029/30 New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi Swarn Shatabdi Express, which would short-terminate and short-originate from Ludhiana on June 29 and a pair of 12497/98 New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi Shan-e-Punjab Express, which would remain cancelled between Phagwara and Amritsar on June 29.
Trains to be short-terminated, short-originated
Other trains to be short-terminated and short-originated are 12379 Sealdah-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express at Delhi Junction (June 28), 12380 Amritsar-Sealdah Jallianwala Bagh Express from Delhi Junction (June 30), 19325 Indore-Amritsar Express at Ludhiana (June 28), 19326 Amritsar-Indore Express from Ludhiana (June 29), 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express at Ambala Cantt (June 28), 15708 Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express from Ambala Cantt (June 29).
Trains cancelled
The fully cancelled trains are 22429/30 Delhi Junction-Pathankot-Delhi Junction Superfast Express (June 29), 12919 Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Indore)-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express (June 28), 12920 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Malwa Express (June 29), 14650 Amritsar-Jaynagar Saryu Yamuna Express (June 29), 14673 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (July 1), 12471 Bandra Terminus-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Swaraj Express (June 28), 12472 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Swaraj Express (on June 29), 14506/07 Nangal Dam-Amritsar-Nangal Dam Express (June 29) and 12411/12 Chandigarh-Amritsar-Chandigarh Intercity Express (June 29).
Further, three pairs of Holiday Special trains would also remain cancelled during the period of the blockage. These are 04972 Jammu Tawi-Udaipur Garib Rath (June 27), 04971 Udaipur-Jammu Tawi Garib Rath (June 28), 04193 Agra Cantt-Jammu Tawi Special Express (June 28), 04194 Jammu Tawi-Agra Cantt Special Express (June 29), 06521 Yesvantpur-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special Express (June 27) and 06522 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Yesvantpur (July 1).
...to be diverted
According to the railway officials, 11057 CST (Mumbai)-Amritsar Dadar Express (June 27), 14617 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express and 12925 Bandra Terminus-Amritsar Pashchim Express (June 28), 12716 Amritsar-Nanded Sachkhand Express, 12460 Amritsar-New Delhi Express, 12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi Express, 14618 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express, 15708 Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express, 12926 Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Pashchim Express, 11058 CST (Mumbai)-Amritsar Dadar Express, 18238 Amritsar-Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express, 12029 New Delhi-Amritsar Swarn Shatabdi Express and 12497 New Delhi-Amritsar Shane-Punjab Express (june 29) would be diverted via alternate route.
Due to traffic blocks, a dozen odd trains would be regulated 30 to 100 minutes or as required en route on June 28 and 29, the officials said.
