LUDHIANA: Arjun Singh and Chhayank Sharma, students of the GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, have brought laurels by winning gold medals in the All India Inter-University Shooting Championship held at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Arjun Singh and Chhayank Sharma, students of the GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, have brought laurels by winning gold medals in the All India Inter-University Shooting Championship held at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Arjun won a gold medal (individual) in the 10-meter air rifle event and later he, along with Chhayank bagged a gold medal in the team event.

Both are studying BPEd in the college and have also participated in the National Shooting Championship held at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. On the basis of their performance, the duo were shortlisted for shooting trials for the international-level tournament.

Manjit Singh Gill, president, College Governing Council said, “Provision of a state-of-the-art indoor shooting range on the college campus has been a source of motivation for a large number of students to take up this sport.”

Lt Gen IS Singha (Retd), director, besides Dr SS Deol, principal, and Dr HS Brar, registrar, also appreciated Arjun and Chhayank on their achievement. They also lauded their coach, Vinay Baliyan, for his guidance.
