Girl goes missing, one booked

A girl of Dhandhari Kalan — Sukhdeep Kaur (23) — went missing on Wednesday evening.

Sukhdeep Kaur had gone to attend her tuition at Sethi Study Centre in Sahnewal, but did not return.

Girl’s father Baljit Singh has lodged a complaint in this regard against Manpreet Singh, a resident of Dhandhari Kalan, with the Sahnewal police. Baljit Singh said he had dropped his daughter at the study centre, but found her missing when he came to pick her up.

The father of the victim has complained that the accused has kidnapped her on the pretext of marriage.

Investigation officer Harpal Singh said no arrests had been made so far and inquest proceedings have begun.— OC
