GST frauds: 5 FIRs registered against bizmen

The state GST Department has started acting tough against frauds occurring in the department. It is conducting raids at different places. In this regard, the department has got five FIRs registered against industrialists and traders at separate police stations.

The suspects reportedly got fake GST bills and evaded tax, committing fraud with the department. According to information, State GST Inspector Jaspal Singh raided Juneja Hosiery here and found many fake GST bills.

The official got an FIR registered at Police Division Number 4. The police got an FIR registered against the factory owner, Prabhjot Singh Juneja, and one of his partners under various sections of the GST Act and the BNS.

Jaspal said the department was checking details and now, it was not possible to say how many fake bills had been seized.

The Sahnewal police have filed a case against Jaspal Bangar and Surinder Kumar, from Shiv Shakti Enterprises. The duo had got fake bills fraudulently and did not pay taxes to the GST Department.

In another case, Amritpal Singh of the Gill Road area was booked.

In all these cases, huge amount of tax was evaded by the suspects.
