Hawala agent held with Rs 10-lakh cash

A team, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Organised Crime and Narcotics, Ludhiana) Sachin Gupta caught a hawala agent and recovered Rs 10 lakh unaccounted cash from him.

After registering a DDR, the case was handed over to the Income Tax Department.

Gupta said the narcotic team today caught up with Raman Kumar and recovered Rs 10 lakh unaccounted money from him.

He said he worked as a hawala agent for Money Arora and Suresh Kumar. Both failed to appear before the police or the IT Department with relevant documents after which the case was handed over to the I-T Department.
