The local police busted an illegal cracker godown at Mohalla Satguru Nagar on Friday and arrested its owner. The owner had stored a huge quantity of crackers and he had no permission for the same.
The godown owner has been identified as Jasdeep Singh. A case was registered against him yesterday.
Investigation officer ASI Karanbir Singh said secret information was received that Jasdeep, who owns Rana Confectionery, had stored a huge quantity of crackers in a godown in his house at Satguru Nagar and he had no licence for doing so. Jasdeep had already sold a large stock of crackers and had earned huge money.
A police party conducted a raid on the house of Jasdeep from where a large stock of crackers was recovered.
The ASI said Jasdeep had stored crackers in the residential area which is not only illegal but also dangerous for locality residents.
The police registered a case under Sections 336 (Whoever does any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others), 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC against Jasdeep at the Daba police station.
