Ludhiana, December 10
A team of officials and field staff of the building branch of the Municipal Corporation today razed a block of shops under construction near Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital in Shastri Nagar which were being raised on a residential plot without an approved building plan.
Assistant Town Planner Vijay Kumar and Building Inspector Jagdeep Singh, along with men and machines, and got pulled down incomplete walls, brick partitions and other structures being constructed at the site.
Earlier, the building owner had failed to comply with the notice served on him by the MC whereby he was asked to stop construction work and demolish the illegal structures on his own, said the MC officials.
