Ludhiana: The anti-narcotic cell of the Ludhiana police has booked a man and seized 10 cases of illicit liquor from his house. The suspect managed to give the police the slip. He has been identified as Sajan, a resident of Monohar Nagar. Investigation officer said when a raid was conducted in the house of the suspect, he escaped from the spot. Later, during the search of the house, the illicit liquor was seized. A case under the Excise Act has been registered against the suspect. TNS
Two cases of dowry registered
The women cell of the police has registered two dowry harassment cases. In the first case, on the complaint of Sukhvir Kaur of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, her husband Jagmohan Singh of Dhandari Khurd was booked on the charge of dowry harassment. In another incident, on the complaint of Komal Talwar of SBS Nagar, a dowry harassment case against her husband Jagroop Singh of Chaminda village was registered. In both cases, the victims alleged that a few years after their marriage, their husbands started torturing them for bringing more dowry. The police have started a probe in both cases. TNS
