In a significant display of unity, trust and camaraderie, the Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana, organised a special ‘bada khana’ (grand feast) that infused new energy and enthusiasm among all police officers and personnel. The presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav and Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma made the event worthy and gave the feel of a close-knit family gathering.

Regardless of the rank, all cops jointly had food together and even the DGP shared the table with the lower-rung cops and held an informal chit chat with them. Around 550 police personnel from all ranks were present. “Such interactions reinforce camaraderie, unity and our collective commitment to serve the people,” the DGP shared.

The programme went beyond a mere collective meal and played a key role in further strengthening teamwork, mutual cooperation and communication within the Police Department. DGP Yadav and CP Sharma interacted with the staff, listened attentively to their issues and promptly considered solutions with sensitivity, creating an atmosphere of trust and satisfaction among the officials and officers.

An inspector while sharing the dine-in experience said that the DGP held informal interaction with the force and there was no protocol and everyone asked anything to the Punjab police head. “Police is not merely a law enforcement force, but also a family in which every member has an important role to play. Describing teamwork as the key to success, he urged all officers to remain even more dedicated towards public service” the DGP told the cops during the event.

He also shared with the lower-rung cops that the ‘bada khana’ provided a platform for police personnel to share their views and strengthen bonds with one another. Such initiatives not only boost morale, but also instil the courage to face challenges together while on duty.

A few days back, a similar initiative of ‘bada khana’ was taken under the leadership of Khanna SSP Darpan Ahluwalia in Khanna.
