International hockey player and 2001 Junior World Cup winner Kamalpreet Singh Chahal, currently posted as SP-3, Ludhiana, visited Jarkhar Hockey Academy on Thursday. He was accompanied by his family members.
Academy director Jagroop Singh Jarkhar welcomed them and honoured them with mementos and traditional shawls. On this occasion, Chahal shared his fond memories associated with Jarkhar stadium, recalling his early hockey days and the victories achieved there.
Chahal lauded academy officials for the contribution in nurturing talent from underprivileged backgrounds, stating that the academy had played a significant role in providing employment opportunities to players and in promoting hockey culture.
The Chahal family extended financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the academy. Several former national hockey players, coaches, academy officials and players were present on the occasion.
