Sahnewal, September 25

The kaar sewa jatha of the historical Gurdwara Reru Sahib here today came out openly in support of farmers who had been holding protests since morning at various spots in and around Sahnewal. They came out in their support and arranged langar for them at various points.

“As we came to know farmers and others would assemble at specific spots today, the sangat from surrounding villages was called so that arrangements for the langar which had to be supplied in a huge quantity be prepared beforehand, said kaar sewa in-charge of Sahnewal Baba Major Singh.

“We identified various spots at which langar was to be sent and assessed the count beforehand and prepared langar for them. We began supplying them around noon at Sahnewal Chowk, Tibba Chowk, along the expressway from Ludhiana, Dehlon Road and Kohara-Sahnewal Road so that farmers or people supporting them should not be left hungry,” said the in-charge.

He said: “The farmers have been feeding us since decades. Now, when these brethren of ours are in a crisis and need our comfort and support, we should stand by them and provide them with all sorts of help. As the agitators had left early from their places today to participate in the protest, it is our duty as the kaar sewa jatha to provide them with langar so that they might be able to fight with double strength,” he added. — OC
