The sub-divisional hospital, Samrala, has secured the second position in the state by scoring 94.1 per cent in the ‘Kayakalp’ programme.

Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, Dr Pardeep Kumar Mohindra, said: “The achievement is the result of the hard work and dedicated service of every staff member at the sub-divisional hospital. Scoring 94.1 per cent demonstrates that the hospital has successfully met all standards and protocols, securing the second position across the state. We will continue our efforts to further enhance the hospital services so that the public receives high-quality healthcare facilities.”

He said a special team from Chandigarh conducted a detailed evaluation of the hospital’s cleanliness, dress code, greenery, biomedical waste management, eco-friendly systems, ETP plant, solar system and staff interaction with patients.

The recognition highlights the excellent performance and high-quality services of the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS)-certified Samrala hospital.

The Kayakalp assessment is a process that evaluates public health facilities for cleanliness, hygiene, waste management and infection control. The assessment is conducted using checklists that include themes, criteria and checkpoints.
