The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) posted at the Khanna Civil Hospital and Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) were honoured during the district-level Republic Day event in Ludhiana, said officials.
They said Dr Maninder Singh Bhasin, SMO, was felicitated by Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for providing health facilities at Civil Hospital.
Dr Bhasin urged the people to take maximum benefits of government schemes. The recently introduced scheme ensuring free treatment must be optimally utilised, he said.
The DMCH was given the district award under the “Save the Planet” initiative in recognition of its outstanding contribution towards environmental conservation through large-scale tree plantation drives.
The award was conferred upon Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society; Dr Ashima Taneja, additional medical superintendent; Dr Monika Singla, professor; and Dr Sonia Singh, associate professor, their efforts in promoting a greener and healthier environment.
