Ludhiana, July 5

The Indian Pharmacist Association (IPA) has formed its branch in the state. Prof SPS Khurana has been appointed as state chairman and Harvinder Singh Kamal vice-chairman, Dr (Prof) Sanjay Bansal president and Rajiv Kumar general secretary and Nitish Jain as chairman of the Registration and Disciplinary Committee.

The association will be governed by its by-laws with all due respect. Any violation of the by-laws by any member of its state branch will attract a default termination from the IPA’s parent central body.

The approval was initially for a maximum of one year, which might extend if the branch performs well. This would come into force after all members of this ad hoc committee takes ‘lifetime membership’, said Bhupendra Kumar, secretary general, IPA.
