Kidnapped child traced to Jalandhar

LUDHIANA: Two days after a three-year-old boy was kidnapped from Moti Nagar, he was recovered from Moti Nagar on Tuesday.

Two days after a three-year-old boy was kidnapped from Moti Nagar, he was recovered from Moti Nagar on Tuesday.

The kidnapper, identified as Veerbhan, had handed over the boy to his brother living in Sheikha Bazaar, Jalandhar. He had told them that the child was his son and he would return after doing some urgent work. When the kidnapper’s brother suspected some foul play, he went to the police station concerned and handed the boy to them.

On October 28, Dev Singh of Textile Colony had lodged a compliant with the Moti Nagar police station that his son had been kidnapped from outside his house while he was playing. The police recovered the footage of a CCTV camera in which a man was seen carrying a boy in his lap.

The police said Veerbhan’s brother Deepinder believed his brother as they had not met for the past several years. But when Veerbhan did not turn up to take the boy on Monday, his brother suspected some foul play and he took the boy to the police station.

Recovered in two days

  • The kidnapper, identified as Veerbhan, had handed over the boy to his brother living in Sheikha Bazaar, Jalandhar. He had told them that the child was his son and he would return after doing some urgent work
