Ludhiana, July 21
The family of the 15-year-girl, who was found hanging at a house in Upkar Nagar, on Thursday held a protest on the Chandar Nagar bridge near Buddha Nullah and demanded an inquiry by the CBI into the matter.
Several migrants, led by the girl’s father, blocked the road for over an hour. “The police are saying that my daughter was neither killed nor raped. We don’t have trust in the police probe. We want a CBI probe in the matter and seek strict action against the employer at whose house she was working as domestic help,” said girl’s father.
The family also refused to cremate the body. Notably, the girl was found hanging at the employer’s house in Upkar Nagar. Violent protest had taken place after the incident. The police had also registered a murder case but accused was not arrested.
The autopsy report ruled out murder and sexual assault. Meanwhile, the family of employer Ajay Sharma had also today held a press conference and said the police should release Ajay as autopsy report ruled out murder and sexual assault.
