The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced statewide protests on December 8 against the Electricity Amendment Bill-2025 and the Seed Bill-2025, which they allege are anti-farmer and pro-corporate. Farmers will stage demonstrations at all Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) subdivisions between 12 noon and 3 pm, burning copies of the two Bills as a mark of resistance.

The decision was taken at a special meeting of the SKM held at Shaheed Karnail Singh Isru Bhavan, Ludhiana, under the leadership of Darshan Pal, Nirbhai Singh Dhudike, and Manjit Singh Dhaneer.

Leaders demanded that the Punjab Government write to the Centre within a fixed timeframe, clearly opposing and seeking withdrawal of both legislations.
