Labourer booked for sexually assaulting 16-year-old daughter in Ludhiana
Medical examination of girl conducted, say Ludhiana police
The Jamalpur police have booked a 47-year-old labourer for allegedly sexually assaulting his 16-year-old daughter at their residence. The case came to light after the teenager confided in her mother, prompting the family to approach the authorities.
An FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police stated that an investigation was underway and efforts were being made to apprehend the accused.
According to the complaint, the victim’s parents are daily-wage labourers. On August 5, the accused allegedly stayed home after telling his wife he was unwell, while she left for work. During her absence, he allegedly assaulted his daughter. Police said the victim kept silent for several hours out of fear. When her mother returned in the evening, she noticed her daughter appeared to be frightened and emotionally disturbed. Following repeated questioning, the girl disclosed the incident, adding that her father had threatened her against telling anyone about it.
Investigating Officer Paramjit Singh said, “A medical examination of the victim has been conducted. Further action will be taken once the report is received.”
