Legislators raise issue of choked sewers

Ludhiana, July 25

The MLAs from Ludhiana East, North and Central today conducted a meeting with Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu over the problem of choked sewers in their respective constituencies.

Ludhiana North MLA Rakesh Pandey, Ludhiana Central MLA Surinder Dawar and Ludhiana East MLA Sanjay Talwar discussed the issue with the Mayor. They sought early solution to the problem.

Sandhu has given instructions to Superintending Engineer Rajinder Singh to take necessary measures in this regard. The main sewer line from the STP at Bhattian to Jalandhar Bypass would be cleaned with super-suction machines, said Sandhu.

Besides, sewers on Chand Cinema Road, Hukam Singh Road, Kalyan Nagar, Bajwa Nagar, Old Madhopuri, Harbanspura, Baba Than Singh Chowk, Samrala Chowk and Chandigarh Road areas would be cleaned, Sandhu added.

The main sewer line from Jalandhar Bypass to Tibba Road would also be cleaned with machines, said Sandhu.
