Ludhiana, June 16

The LIT has denied constructing a boundary wall around a park opposite market in C block of Maharishi Valmiki Nagar here. Refuting the allegation of “wasting public money” as false and baseless, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-LIT chairperson Surabhi Malik said, “It has been done by residents, who maintain the park by pooling in their money for safety reasons and are ready to make any modifications as per any norms available.” “LIT has not wasted any public money by constructing the wall as alleged,” Malik claimed, while referring to a news report in this regard carried in these columns on June 15.
