Ludhiana hospital gets new knee-replacement technology

A Ludhiana hospital has launched new robotic technology for use in knee-replacement surgeries, doctors at the facility said.

Dr SC Ahuja, former principal and head of orthopeadics at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, launched a ROSA robotic system for at MASSH Prolife Hospital.

Dr Harpreet Singh Jolly, director, laparoscopy and bariatric surgery, and Dr Munish Goyal, senior consultant, orthopeadics, MASSH Prolife Hospital, were also present at the launch event.

Dr Goyal said, "ROSA is considered among the most advanced systems available in India for knee replacement. For patients, this means better alignment, smaller incisions, less blood loss, reduced tissue damage, and a faster as well as smoother recovery.”
