Man posing as an aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was the mastermind behind the killing of politician-cum-Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, demanded Rs 5 lakh extortion from a city-based businessman. The police yesterday registered a case against the caller, Shinda.
The complainant in the case, Ashwani Wadhwa of Krishna Nagar, a stationery businessman, said recently he got a WhatsApp call. The caller, who introduced himself as Shinda of the Bishnoi group, demanded Rs 5 lakh extortion money from him.
The complainant said the caller also threatened that if the money was not paid, he would kill him.
Investigating officer ASI Kamaljit Singh said a probe was already on to identify the caller and soon he would be nabbed.
