Finally, the Municipal Corporation (MC) has started the work to install a new sewer line at Prem Nagar, near Dhandari Khurd, in Ward No. 28. The work was inaugurated by ward councillor Paramjit Singh yesterday.
The civic body had floated tenders for the work in December 2019. It took one year to start the work in this area. Residents have been complaining about the overflowing sewers for a long time.
The work to install a new sewer system in Prem Nagar and New Masjid Wali Gali has started. There is a need to upgrade sewer system in other parts of the ward too. The MC must allocate funds for this pupose.
Officials of the Municipal Corportation claimed that the problem of overflowing sewers would be resolved with installation of new pipes. The MC superintending engineer, Rajinder Singh, said, “The work to install new sewer line has been initiated in the area.”
The MC junior engineer, Devinderpal Singh, said, “New sewer line will be installed in Prem Nagar and nearby New Masjid Wali Gali. Besides, Ishar Nagar sewer lines will be cleaned with super suction machines.”
The councillor of Ward No. 28, Paramjeet Singh, said, “The work to install a new sewer system in Prem Nagar and New Masjid Wali Gali has been started. There is a need to upgrade sewer system in several other parts of the ward too. The MC must allocate funds for this pupose.”
