Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday lauded Shubham Wadhwa, an international para table tennis international player from Sham Nagar, for his achievements in the sport and for bringing laurels to the country and Punjab.
A national gold medallist, Shubham also secured several medals on the international stage, including a silver medal at the ITTF World Para Challenger in Egypt (November 2025).
The DC said Shubham’s journey is inspiring. “Overcoming immense challenges with unwavering determination, courage and perseverance, Shubham has excelled on the table and has become a beacon of hope for countless others,” Jain said, adding that memorable performances of Shubham have made the nation, Punjab and Ludhiana proud.
DC Jain extended best wishes to Shubham, who is preparing for the Asian Para Games 2026 and Paralympics 2028. The DC assured Shubham of all possible support from the district administration.
The DC also highlighted that Shubham is serving as the persons with disabilities (PWD) district icon, spreading awareness about voting rights.
