LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana District Basketball Championship for sub-junior boys and girls and junior boys and girls started at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Monday.

LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana District Basketball Championship for sub-junior boys and girls and junior boys and girls started at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Monday. As many as 33 schools from Ludhiana district are participating in this tournament. The first match of the tournament was played between the teams of DCM Presidency School and Mata Mohan Devi School in the Under-17 category for boys. The DCM Presidency School team defeated Mata Mohan Devi School by 17-07 points in this category. DCM Presidency School team dominated the match from the beginning and secured an easy win. In girls’ category, BCM Shastri Nagar team defeated Green Land School Dugri by 17-12. BIS School lost from Doraha Public School by 18-8 in the Under-14 category in boys’ section, while BIS School emerged victorious by defeating GN Public School by 12-08 in girls’ section. JSHS South City lost to Gymkhana Club by 18-10 in another match of boys’ section, whereas KVM, Civil Lines, defeated Green Land Civil City by 28-20. — TNS
