Ludhiana: GNDEC campus comes alive for annual cultural extravaganza
Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College celebrates 'Parwaaz 2026'
Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) campus came alive with colour, rhythm and enthusiasm as students celebrated “Parwaaz 2026”, the annual cultural festival showcasing creativity, cultural pride and leadership.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of a bonfire, symbolising unity and creative spirit.
All the attendees were mesmerised by “Riwayati Pehrava”, a traditional attire show curated by the students. Dressed in vibrant regional ensembles representing Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, among other states, the participants reflected India’s rich cultural diversity. The presentation, authentic styling and confident narration added depth to the cultural storytelling.
The giddha by girl students was also a hit among the audience as it infused the campus with festive energy. Adorned in colourful phulkaris, traditional jewellery and bright attire, the performers mesmerised the audience.
The performers also showcased their talent during the talent hunt, poetry recitation, folk and contemporary singing, solo and group dances, and bhangra. Music band jamming and singer performances, led by students, elevated the festive mood. Punjabi artist Prabh Sangha, who was at the event, inspired the young performers.
Beyond the stage, the students handled anchoring, stage management, logistics and audience coordination, demonstrating strong organisational and leadership skills.
Interacting with students, Principal Sehijpal Singh highlighted that events like this nurture confidence, cultural awareness and self-expression. Cultural Committee chairperson KS Mann and coordinator Jaswant Singh Taur appreciated the students’ dedication and teamwork.
