An RTI activist Rohit Sabharwal has filed a complaint to the Department of Local Government in this regard. “I have obtained information under the RTI Act and it revealed that around 330 measurement books had not been submitted to the MC by the officials concerned since 2014. It indicated big irregularities in the construction and carpeting work of roads in the city,” he alleged.

According to a report, when the auditing team had checked the register of period between 1990 and 2013, it had found that the measurement books were issued to various employees but they did not submit these books back to the civic body.
The forensic audit report that was earlier prepared by a private auditing firm states that the measurement book was not maintained by the civic body as per the engineering procedure. The measurement books, which have details about the civil works, are one of the most important records.
