Ludhiana police announce Rs 20,000 reward for arrest of child murder accused
Man wanted for killing 9-year-old boy had earlier escaped custody in rape case
The Ludhiana Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of brutally murdering a nine-year-old boy in the city.
Aman was found dead in the bushes near an empty plot in the Kasabad locality on February 7. His throat had been slit.
A murder case was registered against an unidentified person. Two days after the body was recovered, police identified the accused as Ajay, a resident of Kasabad.
‘Wanted’ posters of the accused have been put up at various places.
The accused has previously been named in multiple criminal cases. In 2020, a case was registered against him at the Jodhewal police station for the rape of a seven-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment in that case.
However, on February 2, while being taken to the civil hospital for a medical examination, he escaped from police custody and has been absconding since then.
Police said the informant’s identity will be kept confidential.
